"Night Restaurant reflections, Venice Italy"

Walking the nights without the lovely bride in Venice made it difficult in two ways. Valerie, my wife of 11 years now, could not make this trip so I was quite lonely for one. But secondly, I was forced to carry ALL of the gear by myself- ugh. Invigoration balanced out the loneliness. For if she was there the creating of art would have ended much earlier each day due to her tiring quicker than I. For many nights, all of the extra wandering, scouting and searching for that perfect night scene only produced a tired and muffled whisper to my back and feet, “thanks anyway”. But the feeling that I get when I find and make a great photo is like the one Babe Ruth had after hitting a pitch out of the park in the bottom of the ninth to win the game. It’s just that no one gets to see it when I do it. Or do they?
