"Bag lady takes a break, Venice, Italy"

Juggling to keep the umbrella from blowing out of my photo-vest pocket (I’d stuffed it there so I could work with both hands to change lenses, take light readings, etc.) became a real challenge. Working the rain is great in that you can get such a different look to the art, but I must admit that after a couple of days it gets pretty tiring. Sometimes I drop things trying to juggle too many. This day, as I was photographing this interesting woman taking a break from being a bag lady, my photo backpack got into jeopardy behind me. It was getting somewhat squashed, and definitely locked in, by a shops security iron door gate that lowered to protect their glass windowed storefront. I had put it down on their top front step as it was the only place dry around. I hollered loud enough to get someone’s attention in the store and they quickly raised it back up, helping to avoid a real dilemma on how to get it out.
