Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
 from
the Seewald's.

Seasons Greetings,

We hope this e letter finds you and yours in good health and spirits.  As with most of our newsletters, it comes with the notification that NINE names have been drawn and placed on our website.  Those named will be able to collect the winn ings mentioned by their names, both originals and reproductions are given out, including our annual YEAR END, 30x40 original of choice, valued at $10,000. Keep reading to find out how to get to that page of names .

We have not written since last September and a lot has happened since then.  As most of you know, So. California had some bad fires two months ago.  San Diego had the worst ones, starting back on Sunday, October 21st, (Michael was teaching a photo class downtown in Balboa Park).

It was a nightmare and we, as well as eventually 600,000 other folks, had to leave our homes and find shelter elsewhere!  We were blessed and the Lord answered prayer because on Tuesday, the third day of the fires, the winds were predicted to be just as strong (35 – 45 mph with 70 mph gusts), and would have burnt all the way to the coast but the strong winds were cut in half, thus giving the thousands of firefighters and the half dozen special ‘water helicopters’ a real chance to get a handle of slowing it down.  This also saved THOUSANDS, maybe Tens of thousands of more homes from burning!!!

By Wednesday afternoon we came back to our safe home (not to mention our Gallery and Frameshop over in Encinitas).  It took about three more weeks to put all of the little hot spots out. Two friends of ours, Bob and Claudia Maddux, had the fire start burning their home and some firefighters put it out.  About 50 homes on their long street burnt completely down. More fire info with dramatic pictures and maps from the San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper here: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/wildfires/index.htm

Michael just returned from a three week adventure of making a new series of images, and teaching, in N. Italy, the Lake District (Lakes Como, Lugano and Maggiore), as well as a few days in picturesque Venice.  If you are interested in sponsoring one of these we still have a couple available.  More info on what that entails here: http://www.seewald.com/sponsorship_info.htm

Many folks have been calling in and purchasing photo class gift certificates; Carmel and San Diego locations.  Learn everything from A-Z about your new digital cameras, not to mention about all of the compositional elements to make strong photos, all in one fun-filled weekend with Michael for only $395 or $495, depending on location. More info here: http://www.seewald.com/photo_wkshp_intro_pg.htm

Michael will be off to Yunnan Provence, China, as well as Laos, in February and March of 2008.  If interested in sponsoring one of those trips and getting a Seewald for half price let us know.  More info on the program here: http://www.seewald.com/sponsorship_info.htm

Now, to see if your name was drawn in our random selection from our e-mail list go to our ‘photo fun-shop’ page to view it, the names are listed at the bottom of the page:
